Proverbs 4:25-27 for Christian Writers

Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

— Proverbs 4:25-27 NLT

I know how easy it is to get distracted by the things happening around us and lose sight of what God is calling us to do. I am still learning to keep my eyes on Jesus and trust Him with each step, even when the path isn’t always clear. I don’t have it all figured out, but I want my life to reflect His love and bring Him Glory.

    God Bless you …

    1. Thanks, Willie. You’ve highlighted how our trust in God guides us through life. Jesus is the Light of the World, and when we let Him shine through us, believers enjoy endless opportunities to glorify God.

  2. Grant, thank you for today’s encouragement! God bless you as you serve our precious Savior, Jesus Christ!

  3. Easier to do the more you do them.

  4. Great encouragement, Grant, thank you!

  5. Since I struggle with distractions, it’s always helpful to be reminded to keep my eyes on God and the path He has placed before me.

  6. Thanks for the pep talk, Grant. I also happen to love the inspirational song you shared. 😁🎵

  7. Thanks for the inspiration, Grant. I’m always praying God will direct my steps and use me to bring His message to others. In my own walk, I stumble a lot, but I know He is faithful to redirect me when I do.

    1. The faithful God of second (and third… and fourth… and many more) chances, mercy beyond description. Without His mercy, I’d be toast!

My writing has changed a lot over the years. I hope I’m taking it where God wants me to. Thanks for the food for thought, Grant.

    1. You’re welcome for the thought-food. (You know my Source, a heavenly Kitchen brimming with never-ending inspiration.) I’m torn between writing stories and posts. I hope the posts will help shape the trajectory of those called to write Christian fiction. Also, I hope my fiction (undergoing editing) will help them see how they can use the free Trellis Method to speed up the learning process.

My writing journey has had a lot of tangents. Hopefully I’m on course now! Joel 2:25 is comforting me.

    1. Indeed, a great comfort (Joel 2:25a NLT): The Lord says, “I will give you back what you lost
to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts,
the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts.
